On 15 June 2010 a workshop on “Food Safety Issues in Georgia and Europe” was held in the premises of “Management Systems” Ltd. Representatives of Food Safety Service (Ministry of Agriculture) and the food safety specialists of the client companies were attending the workshop. State officials presented the information about the current situation in Georgia, discussed the necessity of strengthening the rules and the future plans regarding the food safety controlling system as well.
As it is known, according to the changes in the Georgian law on “Food Safety and Quality”, control on food products is to be more drastic. Changes will influence all large enterprises engaged in food supply chain. In case of any infringements, companies are supposed to be penalized.
